Remote module for DIN guide

 

LEOMATIC P59 is an extremely versatile digital I/O module.
It has 16 PNP inputs photo-coupled and 16 PNP outputs photo-coupled.
It can be used in any application based on Leomatic SYSTEM5 control, as local or remote I/O, handled by the PLC program running on a CPU.

It is also an embedded bidirectional converter RS232-CANBus; so you may connect this module directly to a PC or to a user's panel (via RS232) and then use its CANBus port as network to connect any other SYSTEM5 module (P59, ...), via a simple CAN twisted pair.
In this case, you may read/write its I/O from inside your SW on the PC.

It's also possible to connect a PC, via USB, to a P59-USB module 
and then use its CANBus port as network to connect any other SYSTEM5 module (P59, ...).

The CANBus connection between P59 and the other SYSTEM5 modules  requires a simple twisted pair and uses a special Leomatic protocol that reaches 1 Mb/s up to medium distances (about 20 m).

Up to 16 P59 modules on the same CANBus network (4 dip-switches to set address), for a total of 256 inputs + 256 outputs.

Functions

 

    Remote digital I/O for any application based on Leomatic SYSTEM5. I/O logic state may be handled by the custom PLC program running on a CPU module (P51, P51S).

    Stand-alone digital I/O for an application based on a PC.
I/O logic state may be handled by custom software on the PC, using an ActiveX component (supplied by Leomatic free-of-charge).

    I/O expansion: up to 256 inputs + 256 outputs, connecting up to 16 P59 modules on the same CANBus network.

    Bi-directional converter RS232 - CANBus.

    On board firmware auto-diagnostic functions (error conditions).

    With future firmware versions, it will be possible to download a small logic program (PLC) on a single P59 module.

Hardware

    Microprocessor: ATMEL at 40 MHz.

    16 digital inputs, photo-coupled.

    16 digital outputs, photo-coupled.

    Galvanic insulation of the field-ground and the logic-ground (so insuring the maximum protection from electrical noises or accidental damages).

    Output sections use solid-state components, granting protection against short-circuits, over-temperatures, overloads, inversions of filed-power polarities.

    1 high-speed serial port, in RS232 and CANBus at the same time.
It may be directly connected to a PC or to a user's panel (in RS232) and/or to other SYSTEM5 modules (in CANBus).

    Bi-directional converter RS232 - CANBus.

    Power requirements:
+24 Vdc nominal (min. +15, max. +30 Vdc)
  20 mA on +24 Vdc

    Field-power requirements:
+24 Vdc nominal (min. +15, max. +30 Vdc)

    Digital inputs: PnP, +24 Vdc nominal

    Digital outputs: PnP, +24 Vdc nominal
(each output acts as "current source", with a maximum fan-out of 500 mA)
 

Mechanical

   The module is ready to mount on a standard DIN guide.

   Dimensions: 101 × 120 × 17,5 mm

   Front panel is a transparent, elevating cover, so allowing the view of on-board leds and the access to the configuration dip-switches.

   Removable clips, screw type, for power input, communication ports and I/O signals.

    3 leds to monitor module status and communication activities.

    16 green leds + 16 red leds to show the current logic state of each input and output.
